Oerlikon Solar has launched ThinFab, a production line for manufacturing thin-film silicon modules. According to the company, the new line allows for production costs of 0.5 euros/W.

ThinFab also features a new low-voltage module design based on simplified new back-end equipment. The ThinFab reduces energy payback time of thin-film modules below one year, the company adds.
